20 All-Time Greatest Hits! is a compilation album by James Brown, containing 20 of his most famous recordings, released on October 22, 1991, on Polydor Records. Released as a single-disc alternative to Star Time, it features songs from the 1950s, 1960s, as well as 1970s. 16 songs from this album previously topped the US HotR/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The album itself peaked at number 99 on the R/Hip-Hop Albums after its release. It received general acclaim my music critics, including a 5 star review by Rolling Stone. In 2003, the album was ranked number 414 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. 20 All-Time Greatest Hits! has received general acclaim from music critics. Stephen Cook of Allmusic as well as Rolling Stone gave the album five stars.
